Crass and craven, summer awakens

Silky mist lightened by creeping tired light

The slow trill of a feathered friend

Straw hat bent over a dastardly deed

 a heavy mark

 a crushed soul

Cleft hoofs dug into loamy earth

 a mere moment past

Tangled tango of man and nature

The rhythm rises,

 falls

Inconspicuously shifts shape and tone

Laconic feet follow unheard beat

Curled hands trace ageless time

Chaos endlessly entwined motif
